Fettuccine Alfredo

- 1 lb fettuccine
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups Parmesan cheese
- salt/pepper to taste
(You didn't expect this to be low fat, did you?)
-Warm the butter and cream over low heat in a medium saucepan, and season with salt/pepper. Meanwhile, cook the pasta per package directions. Place 1 cup of the Parmesan into a large serving bowl. Pour the butter/cream mixture over the top, then immediately drain (save some of the pasta water, however) the noodles and add them to the bowl. Toss a few times, then add the second cup of cheese. Toss well, adding a splash of pasta water as needed to thin the sauce and create a velvety smooth bowl of heaven. This is perfect as-is, or topped with sauteed chicken or shrimp.
