Homemade Larabars
I'm ridiculously happy about this little discovery. I love me some Larabars. Did you know you can make them yourself at home in about 60 seconds? If you've bought them before, you know they aren't cheap (about 1.50/bar or more), but I often bite the bullet because they are so unadorned and only have "good stuff" inside. I read a little blurb about making energy bars on the plane (again, not sure which magazine had this one in it) and wanted to try it. My husband and I were so shocked at how good these are--they are even better than the real thing, baby. I made 2 batches for Bible study snacks in less than 5 minutes. Your fruit/nut combinations are endless. Need I say more?
Homemade Larabars
-1 cup dried cherries
-1 cup nuts of your choice
-1 cup dates
Food process, press into 8" square pan, and chill for 1 hr before slicing. I assume these will freeze well and I plan to try it.
