Brownie Oreo Ice Cream Bars
-adapted slightly from chelseasmessyapron.com
- 1 box of your favorite brownie mix (for a 9x13 pan), plus ingredients to make it
- 1 package of Oreos
- 1 (12oz) jar of hot fudge
- 1 half-gallon vanilla ice cream (or whatever you like. Go crazy and choose something else!)
- 1 (8 oz) container of Cool Whip (thawed completely in fridge)
Make your brownies according to package directions and cool completely. Open your package of Oreos and place all but 3 of them into a large Ziploc bag. Smash the bag a bit with your fist to roughly chop them. Spread Oreos on top of the brownies. Heat the hot fudge in the microwave as instructed on the back. Pour over the Oreos, spreading to evenly distribute. Freeze for 10 minutes. Soften your ice cream by setting it on the counter during this 10 minutes. Evenly spread the ice cream on top of the hot fudge, return to the freezer for at least 2 hours or overnight. Spread with Cool Whip, take the remaining 3 Oreos, crush them up, and sprinkle on top. Step back and admire your fancy dessert decorating skills. Put the whole thing back in the freezer for at least 30 minutes, or until you are ready to serve (this could be days in advance!). That's it!
